Label Design.

Task: Design three labels for a series of glass bottles containing a liquid ingredient used in cooking, utilizing original illustration, text, and texture.

Concept: Created a brand identity for a maple syrup brand called Moultonborough Maples. The concept was developed around a short story I wrote about making pancakes on cold winter mornings with my grandmother in Moultonborough, New Hampshire. I designed a series of three labels for the brand's different kinds of syrup: Light Amber, Medium Amber, and Dark Amber.

The front labels for each type of syrup feature a different native New Hampshire animal species. The Light Amber label features a mother and baby loon, a pre-historic aquatic bird. The Medium Amber label features a lake trout, commonly found in the deep cold waters of the Northern New Hampshire lakes region. The Dark Amber label features a moose, New Hampshire’s largest land mammal averaging 1,000 pounds and stand 6 feet tall.

The back labels for each type of syrup feature my grandmother’s famous pancake recipe as well as her tips and tricks on how to make the perfect pancake.
